By 1909, Hershey Chocolate Company was the largest confectionery company in the United States, with net sales of over $2 million.  In 1910, sales nearly doubled.  Hershey's Milk Chocolate bars could be found throughout the United States and beyond, as evidence by this postcard postmarked in Tientsin, China.
